What Are Our Voting Rights?

All voters can rely on the federal protections listed below. In addition, you may have even more protections at the state or local level.

  1. No Intimidation: You have the right to vote and register to vote without intimidation.
  2. Stay In Line: You have the right to vote if you are in line when the polling place closes.
  3. Ask for Help: You have the right to ask for a new ballot if you make a mistake.
  4. Americans with Disabilities Act: You have the right to accommodations if you are disabled. 
  5. Right to Privacy: You have the right to vote privately and independently.
